"Look!" a stunned passerby calls out as the formation of F-35's fly across the city in recognition of healthcare personnel. Similarly, in other parts of our nation the essential workers who support our cities and communities are lauded for their strength of character in serving and working through the pandemic.
This extends to others, too, the postal workers, retail employees, food and agricultural workers, mechanics, construction, and other repair personnel are providing necessary service to our communities, as well as childcare providers. We thank them and show our appreciation for what they are doing to serve in a time of need.
The essential workers are being called heroes or even superheroes. Society is recognizing these people in a wonderful way. However, the attention lavished is quite humbling, with many saying, "I'm not a hero. I'm just doing my job."
A hero has a lot to live up to. They are applauded for what they do. Everyone looks up to them. Their actions are sometimes regarded as miraculous. But, miraculous might not be the right word. There is only One who is truly a miracle maker, the One who has called you by name, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, the Alpha, the Omega, the Great Counselor, the Savior of the World, Lord of heaven and earth.
There are some who attain a status of greatness; however, in God's eyes, everyone is created to be great in their own way; to use the gifts they have been given to serve.
Looking for a Miracle Man? Look up. Your Savior awaits.
All Glory, Laud, and Honor to the Risen King. Miracle Man. Jesus Christ.
