NANCY PELANDER JOHNSON
I am a Christian freelance author. I wrote my first poem at age nine, and called it “Ode to a Telephone Pole.” I’ve been writing ever since.
When our girls were small, I wrote when they napped and then “burned the midnight oil,” so to speak. I began to submit my writing to magazines, taping the rejection slips to the back of the office door. But I didn't give up and rejections eventually gave way to acceptances.
My writing has appeared in Christian publications and anthologies: (Junior Trails, Starlight Magazine, Parenting Treasures, Evergreen Publications, Project: Proclaim God, Friends of Inspire Faith, and others).
When our daughters were in grade school, the idea for a book came when my youngest exclaimed, “Mommy, there are ants in my Bible!” My book, “95 Animals of the Bible,” was published by Master Books/New Leaf Press in 1997. A hardback version of the book, “44 Animals of the Bible,” was released in 2014.

Other Writing
After raising children, I returned to school to become a nurse. After retiring, I returned to my passion for writing inspirational material.
New Release!
I am excited to announce that my new book, “Just One Good Thing - A Faith Inspired Recipe for Optimism" has been released by AMG Publishing! It is available on Amazon.com, Christianbook.com, Amazon Kindle and iTunes.
Presently I am working on a new book. It is called, "Love, Unexpected: The Secret Exposed” (An Adoptee's Story).

Family & Hobbies
I grew up in the mountains of Colorado but have been a desert dweller since 1977 and reside in Arizona with my husband, Rich. He is a Master Gardener and a gourmet cook. I am spoiled. He cooks. I clean.
We have two lovely daughters, of whom we are very proud. Our oldest is an orthopedic R.N.; our youngest is an Associate Professor of Education. We are also blessed to be “PaPa and Nona” to five marvelous grandkids (four boys and one girl).
In addition to writing, I play therapeutic harp for patients. I also participate in our church worship band by playing guitar and singing. I love music and play a variety of instruments. I recently added a pan flute to my collection.
We are grateful for our family, friends, and church family. In the summer, my husband and I enjoy going to the pines, casting our lines out into the mountain lakes, watching wildlife, and basking in the serenity of God’s creation.
Faith
It is with a subservient heart that I praise God for His blessings in my life—and for the gifts He has instilled in me.
Because gifts are intended to be given away, I treasure the opportunity to write about God’s love and grace—and to share my heartfelt stories and experiences with you.
If you have questions or comments, feel free to click on my “Contacts” page. I would love to hear from you!
I wish God’s Blessings to you. May you be refreshed, re-energized and renewed through His Word and all of the good things He desires for you!
In Christ,
Nanc’
