"It's about time, Nanc,'" my mother used to say to me. "Time to get moving..."
I was always a late starter. My mother had to pry me out of bed in the mornings. "It's too early!" I'd argue. "Nope. Time to get up!" she'd exclaim, pulling off my covers, and giving me a little push off the mattress. I'd retaliate. "Awww, darn!" I didn't like being ruled by calendars or watches. I hated getting up when she wanted me to. I wanted to stay up until the wee hours. Just let me peer up at the stars from the back porch, or stare at the man in the moon. I had adventures to plan, ideas to create, poems swirling in my head to put to paper. Things didn't change as I got older. In college I purposely planned my scheduled classes to start as late in the morning as possible. Later, I chose "2nd shift" in my nursing career to accommodate my most "wakeful" hours. Staying up late was part of my circadian vocabulary. Oh, the reality of life. Schedules! Not easy to follow, as you know! For me, that schedule includes keeping up with a weekly blog, which I haven't done for some time. It is a commitment, you know? Just like everything else in life we choose to do. For myself, I know I need to get moving, and delete the "Awww, darn's!" If my dear mom was still around, she'd be bugging me to get going. "It's about time, Nanc'," she'd say. Mom was right about a lot of things, including her faith in God. I've felt God's nudge for some time to "wake up" and "get going," so here I am. I'm back, and I look forward to sharing my thoughts with you. It's about time! The truth is, it is about time. I feel certain the Lord intends for us to use our time wisely. After all, it was He who created time to begin with! Is there anything that God is nudging you to do? Is there a "It's About Time?" adventure--or commitment--waiting to be acknowledged? Feel free to comment and share your thoughts; I'd love to hear from you! In Him, Nanc'
