I woke up. "Thank you, God, for this new day," I prayed. Other expressions of gratitude unfolded: thanking the check-out lady at the grocery store, the attendant at the gas station, and the associate who held the door open for me at the bank. As the day progressed, more thank you's followed. Those two simple words. How many times had I muttered them out of sheer habit? I realized it was often, especially at places I visited often, such as making a run to the grocery store or filling up my gas tank. When showering gratitude to family or friends, I was more apt to think about the words I was saying. Yesterday while running errands I decided it might be interesting to track the total number of times I said Thank You in one day. However, I failed to keep count. Words of gratitude slipped from my lips too often to record them. So, on this Thanksgiving Day, its time to recognize our "Thank You's as a gift for all we have been given. From now on, I'd like to make all of my Thank You's more meaningful ones. And not just on Thanksgiving--but every day. # For what do you give thanks?
